Can I use DEW around children?
Yes. DEW products are designed to help families reduce exposure to unnecessary cleaning chemicals while still delivering effective cleaning performance. Our formulations are made with over 99% electrolysed water and do not contain many of the harsh ingredients commonly found in traditional cleaning products. This makes DEW a safer choice for homes where children live, play and grow. As with any cleaning product, we recommend using as directed and storing out of reach of young children.
Can I use DEW around pets?
Yes. DEW is designed for everyday use in homes with pets. Our products are made using electrolysed water technology and avoid harsh chemicals often found in conventional cleaning products. We also offer a dedicated Pet Care range specifically developed for pet-friendly households.
What is hypochlorous acid and is it safe?
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a naturally occurring substance produced by your own immune system to help protect you, by fighting all forms of infections.
At DEW, hypochlorous acid is created through our electrolysed water process, which uses only water, salt and electricity. It provides powerful antimicrobial performance while being gentle enough for use in everyday environments. Because it is natural occurring, hypochlorous acid is not recognised by our bodies as a foreign substance, so it does not promote a reaction, making it an effective and safer alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants.
How do DEW products work?
DEW products are powered by electrolysed water technology. By applying a small electrical charge to a solution of water and high-purity salt, we create two highly effective cleaning ingredients: hypochlorous acid and a small amount of sodium hydroxide.
Together, these ingredients deliver powerful cleaning, sanitising and deodorising performance without relying on the harsh chemicals commonly found in traditional cleaning products.
Are there any toxic chemicals in DEW products?
No. DEW products are formulated without many of the harsh chemicals commonly used in conventional cleaning products. Our technology uses water, salt and electricity to create effective cleaning and sanitising solutions.
DEW complies with the requirements of the European Biocidal Products Regulation (EU 528/2012) and is designed to provide effective performance while helping reduce exposure to unnecessary cleaning chemicals.
How effective are DEW products?

Where can DEW products be used?
DEW products are designed for use throughout the home. Depending on the product, they can be used on kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, living spaces, pet areas, children’s environments and a wide range of everyday household surfaces.

Do DEW products leave behind any residue?
No. DEW products leave no sticky residue or chemical film behind after use. They are designed to clean effectively and then evaporate naturally, leaving surfaces fresh and clean.
Does DEW harm aquatic life?
When used as directed for everyday household cleaning, DEW products are designed to have minimal environmental impact. However, concentrated products should not be sprayed directly into aquariums, ponds or other environments containing aquatic life.
Aquariums and ponds can be cleaned while empty, provided they are thoroughly rinsed with clean water before fish or other aquatic animals are reintroduced.
Why does DEW use plastic bottles?
Sustainability is about looking at the full environmental impact of a product, not just the material it is packaged in.
After careful consideration, we chose rigid HDPE plastic bottles because they currently offer the best balance of durability, recyclability and carbon efficiency. Plastic bottles are significantly lighter than glass, reducing transportation emissions throughout the supply chain. They also require less energy to manufacture than glass or aluminium.
We have also designed our refill system to encourage bottle reuse and reduce single-use packaging. Rigid refillable bottles are more widely accepted by recycling systems and are more likely to be recycled than flexible pouches, helping to keep materials in circulation for longer.
